Engineering Manager ODT

Odfjell Drilling Technology has approximately 75 dedicated and QHSE-oriented resources serving the following areas: Platform maintenance, Drilling engineering services including EPCI, MODU and fixed installations, , Yard stays, Technology projects & improvement processes.

Within our business unit Odfjell Drilling Technology we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager at our office in Bergen. We are looking for an experienced can do candidate that is motivated by challenges in a hectic working environment.

Job description/work tasks:

• To provide technical management and leadership of the engineering function, comprising discipline engineers to support project execution in accordance with Clients specifications and requirements
• Ensure delivery of all expects of projects to HSE, cost, schedule and quality criteria
• Direct responsibility for the engineering group and prioritise technical resources and competencies
• Develop the engineering system, methods, processes and procedures
• Success delivery of engineering services and projects by managing project work including evaluation in coming Scope Of Work (SOW), assign SOW to engineers and follow up project execution in accordance with Odfjell Project Execution Model (OPEM), customer, requirements and relevant rules and regulations
• Ensure all interfaces to other areas are clearly defined and correctly managed e.g. third party contractors and vendors
• Technical content and participation of estimates of bids and tenders
• Primary interface with clients on behalf of engineering group including receiving project work, handling technical issues and promoting business development opportunities, both internally and externally
• Ensure the engineers have the required tools and training needed to perform project work and facilitate implementation of new systems
• Recruit and retain personnel in alignment with resource histogram
• Weekly update report for engineering and projects
• Maintain utilization in accordance with budget
• Undertake personnel performance review

Qualifications:

• Technical, Bachelor or Master degree within engineering with minimum 10 years experience
• Good communication skills with an ability to lead
• Experience from similar multidiscipline engineering manager position
• Experience with economy, risk, planning, and project deliveries
• Good technical understanding of drilling facilities, drilling systems and drilling equipment

Experience/ Knowledge

• Familiar with Equinor engineering systems like SAP, STID, Procosys, PIMS, Aveva and other
• Familiar with Equinor project framework and technical/LCI requirements
• Knowledge/certification within PMI/Prince2 standards is an advantage
• Experience with semi-subs, fixed installations  and drill ships is an advantage
• Experienced with national legislation, flag stat regulations, class rules and international conventions (e.g DNV, NMD, PSA, SOLAS, MARPOL) is an advantage
