We are looking for a Claims Executive to strengthen our P&I cargo claims team in Arendal. The team handles third party claims on behalf of Gard’s clients worldwide and provides advice on various cargo related issues.
As a Claims Executive, you will be responsible for the handling of Cargo Claims for selected clients. This is an operational position involving contact with shipowners / operators, surveyors, experts and lawyers, and involves evaluating, negotiating and settling cargo claims as well as providing advice to clients.
The position's main responsibilities will be within liquid cargo claims, including owners and charterers work, but applicants may be asked to handle a broader spectrum of claim types as and when required.
We are looking for a Master Mariner with experience from chemical or product tankers or other liquid trade. The ideal candidate has sailed as Captain or Chief Officer but other nautical or non-nautical relevant qualification will also be considered.
Applicants will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a structured manner, while also contributing to the team in a hectic working environment.
