Technical QA Tester (Junior position)

We have been around for 26 years, we have been in the early days of MMOs. We are the team that made Conan Exiles with (…insert success story here). We make games with an edge, and we have a great time doing it!

Now, our Oslo studio is working on several projects at the same time, both external (e.g. Mutant Year Zero) and internal (e.g. a new game with the Dune IP from Legendary Entertainment). Due to the increasing number of projects, our Core Tech department needs a Technical QA Tester. 

This is a perfect position for junior candidates that want to start a career in games, and where you will see a steep growth into the position with the guidance of the rest of the Tech team. As a Technical QA Tester at Funcom, you will work alongside the engine and tools programmers to help ensure we meet our quality targets. You will test features and changes before they are pushed to the dev team, as well as help reproduce tricky issues across multiple platforms, catching them in the debugger when possible. You will also participate in writing automated tests for new game and engine features.

We are looking for someone that has:

• An analytical mind
• An interest in programming
• Strong communication skills (English is our working language)
• Recently completed a bachelors’ degree or similar in a relevant field

In addition, this is what successful Funcom employees have in common:

• Experience using the Unreal Engine 4 editor
• Experience as a QA tester
• Experience using Visual studio and C/C++ or C#
• Experience using Python
