Role Summary:
Baker Hughes currently has an opportunity for a Lab Technician, to provide Drilling Fluids solutions to their North Sea Drilling Operations teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
Analysis of drilling fluids (Mud), and other products and services.
Responsible for the providing of laboratory testing and results.
Mixing and testing of fluids and generate laboratory data.
Ensuring the safety and accuracy of laboratory activities.
Responsible for maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Responsible for the labelling and storing of chemicals in the lab, also including the maintenance of the records and discharge of expired chemicals.
Pack and send offshore laboratory equipment.
Assist in recommendations and solutions to the offshore operations.
Assist in contact, information and co-ordination of work from other BHDF laboratories.
Undertake other responsibilities delegated by Laboratory Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Successfully completed training and further education in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a relevant subject.
A qualified Chemical technical assistant (CTA) or technician with good chemical knowledge.
Experience of working within a laboratory environment.
Good written and spoken English skills.
Knowledge of MS Office products
