Technical Writer

For one of our clients we are searching for a Technical Writer

Job Description:

• Ensure that User Documentation (UD) produced in a project is prepared in accordance with the established templates, master and standard documents, to the correct quality and within the time required by the project plan
• Represent the department on UD related issues towards the Projects and the System Engineering department and Suppliers if relevant.
• Prepare user documentation to the correct quality and price and in accordance with in-house UD templates, master and standard files.
• Give input to, and review planning own work in the project E-plan.
• Participate in the process of generating Master Document Register (E-plan) for new projects.
• Review all UD prepared by sub-suppliers to ensure consistent layout, quality and content and be prepared to review internal UD to the same level (created by in-house writers).
• Prepare a work progress report every month to be delivered to the Group Manager (when applicable).
• Assist the Group Manager with documentation input in tenders; defining UD scope.
• Develop and maintain the UD templates, standards and product master files.
• Work together with the other technical authors in to ensure consistency and correct quality in the UD across product departments.
• Propose modifications to general product documentation in order to simplify the documentation structures.
• Assist the Group Manager with continuously having focus on improving the business processes (BMS) as well as updating LWIs and other reference documents.
• Continuously having an overview over the ongoing tasks, look ahead lists and establish work packages towards external UD suppliers if required.

Qualifications:

• Technical knowledge, preferably on engineer level (Bachelor or Master).
• Preferable knowledge and experience in writing user documentation within the oil & gas industry. Including but not limited to MS Office applications (WORD, Excel etc), SAP, Eplan, TCE
• Function well in teams
• Speaks/writes Norwegian and English fluently
