Aker Solutions has secured new long-term contracts on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and the project portfolio for our engineering department in Sandnessjøen is rapidly expanding. We are involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from front end studies to modification projects and various specialist services.
The engineering department in Sandnessjøen consists of nearly 40 highly qualified employees and we are currently looking for a Buyer to complement and strengthen our team for future growth.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Buyer of bulk and minor procurement packages, ATS co-ordinator (Agreement for Technical Services) as well as purchasing of required material to support our fabrication workshop
- Managing and co-ordinating procurement activities and deliverables of assigned procurement packages in accordance with project goals, established procedures and work instructions
- Establish and maintain procurement strategies, procurement plans and budgets
- Ensuring that our suppliers are prequalified and preparation of inquiries, tender evaluation, negotiation, issuing of purchase orders, follow up of equipment/documentation deliveries, change and warranty handling, invoice control and close out.
Qualifications and Personal Qualities
- Higher technical and/or commercial education (BSc/MSc)
- 2-3 years of relevant experience within Purchasing and/or Supply Chain activities
- Systematic and analytical skills
- Commercially driven with technical insight
- Excellent communication skills in English both orally and in writing
- Good negotiations skills
- Team and relation-builder with cultural understanding
- High integrity and ethical values
- Knowledge of MIPS will be an advantage.
