ABOUT THE JOB
Nordic Semiconductor´s R&D capacity is expanding. We are looking to recruit system architects with strong software development experience to develop prototype SW in the HW architecture phase to find the best viable HW architecture.
The System Architecture Group (SAG) at Nordic Semiconductor is an international team of highly educated, exceptional individuals from diverse backgrounds in electronics, software, and IC development. We work to grow Nordic´s portfolio and impact, architecting and specifying new and upcoming System on Chip (SoC) devices. We are a dynamic and vibrant team, focused on innovation to maintain and strengthen Nordic´s position as the number one wireless SoCs provider in the world.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the architecture, the quality and the user experience of our products. You will directly contribute to the success of the company, helping to create optimal HW for ultra-low power technologies which will benefit the lives of billions worldwide.
As part of the system architecture group you will drive the architectural process, collecting inputs from stake holders and strive to obtain the overall best possible system architecture. The SW prototypes will be run on different HW platforms, depending on the maturity of the project. You are happy to document the results from prototyping to convey the architectural content efficiently downstream.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The job involves a range of activities which may vary over time. On a regular basis, your responsibilities include:
- develop SW prototypes on a range of different HW platforms
- work together with the SW teams to understand their challenges
- participate in reviews
- producing written specifications
- general system architecture work for next generation devices
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Experience with embedded FW development and microcontroller
- Bare metal microcontroller experience
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experienced in C/C++ and Python programming languages
- Experience in Git
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
DESIRABLE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Experienced with Microcontroller toolchains like Segger Embedded Studio, Keil, IAR or GCC.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M-based microcontrollers
- Comfortable in both OS X, Linux, and Windows
- Knowledge of other programming languages (C#, Go, XML)
- FPGA
- Embedded HW design
