Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL Maritime Norway has a total of 115 employees, working from 16 offices along the Norwegian coast. The unit is responsible for all our services to the maritime cluster in Norway. The main activities are inspection and classification of vessels and inspection of mobile rigs and floating production units. In addition, certification of equipment from manufacturers.

Maritime Norway has increased activity in the inspection and certification at manufactures of materials and components. Especially within electrical and control/monitoring equipment. Thus, DNV GL are looking for an experienced electro surveyor for fulltime permanent position in Bergen.

Key responsibilities:

Surveys and certification mainly of electrical components and control/monitoring equipment.
Survey of electrical and automation installations onboard ships, mobile offshore units and newbuilding’s.
Supervision in connection with new construction and retrofit.
Technical assistance externally and internally as needed.

Position Qualifications

General experience within the maritime and/or offshore industry.
Knowledge of dynamic positioning equipment.
Persons with short or long experience will be considered based on experience.
Higher technical education (M.Sc, B.Sc, chief engineer).
Necessary training to the individual candidate will be given.

Personal qualities:

Ability to have strong customer focus with a high degree of service availability.
Flexibility.
Good communication skills in Norwegian and English.
Interested in quality systems and not least the quality of work.
General IT skills.
Team spirit.
