Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL Maritime Norway has a total of 115 employees, working from 16 offices along the Norwegian coast. The unit is responsible for all our services to the maritime cluster in Norway. The main activities are inspection and classification of vessels and inspection of mobile rigs and floating production units. In addition, certification of equipment from local manufacturers.

Maritime Norway has increased activity in the inspection of mobile units related to DNV GL Offshore Class and statutory services. Thus, we are looking for an experienced surveyor at one of our offices in Stavanger, Bergen or Haugesund.

Key responsibilities:

Surveys and inspections of mobile rigs offshore and at ports/yards mainly in Norway
Construction supervision in connection with new construction and retrofit
Overhaul of offshore equipment at manufacturers and local clients
Technical assistance as needed

Position Qualifications

General experience within the offshore industry, and preferably with drilling equipment, hull and structure
Persons with short or long experience will be considered based on experienced
Relevant training and background (M.Sc, B.Sc, chief engineer, experience from offshore industry and/or merchant marine)
Necessary training to the individual candidate will be given

Personal qualities:

Ability to have strong customer focus with a high degree of service availability
Good communication skills in Norwegian and English
Interested in quality systems and not least the quality of work
General IT skills
Team spirit
