Production Manager Norway

Nordisk Aviation Products has strong ambitions for further growth, and we are now strengthening our Operational Management Team with hiring a new person for the position as Production Manager Norway.

The position will report to the Operations Director, and be based at our head quarter in Holmestrand.

Responsibility

The position is responsible for all activities related to production at the Norwegian site in Holmestrand. This includes personnel responsibility for team leaders, specialists and operators. The position is responsible for the operation is in compliance with local laws and regulations to meet Nordisk bonds towards customers and aviation authorities. It is the responsibility of the Production Manager to upgrade his / her own need for skills upgrade required to perform the tasks.

Main responsibilities

• Ensure that Nordisk provides a safe workplace for its employees, that all EHS legislative requirements are, and that a "Safety First" culture pervades the organization.
• Ensure that an appropriate quality system for the production organization exists, and is continually improved so that world class levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
• Provide main point of contact with national aviation authorities for production organization (EASA "POA Manager")
• Develop and evolve the production organization to world class standard using appropriate tools as the position keeps fit
• Ensure optimal production plans are created and adhered to, and that world class levels of On Time In Full Delivery are achieved
• Develop and improve the production processes to optimize the cost base and outputs such that world-class production efficiency is attained
• Ensure appropriate maintenance plans exist and are followed to achieve world class levels or OEE.
• Develop the competence of the production team, which is always equipped with the necessary skills to measure the plans of the business and challenges from our competitive environment.
• Support the purchasing organization in ensuring optimum inventory levels are maintained, and that world class levels of inventory are achieved.
• Develop and maintain appropriate CPI metrics and reports, and continuous improvement plans related to these metrics.
• Ensure that the staffing levels are maintained at the right levels to support the business needs.
• Ensure that people are trained and developed according to the requirements for continuous growth and improvement
• Actively support our Value Drivers Profitable New Business, Value Based Pricing and Productivity
• Improve customer service and continuous improvement mentality in all parts of the production facility

Other requirements

• Minimum relevant bachelor degree and relevant experience from a similar production environment
• International experience, as well as knowledge of the aviation industry or related industry, will be a strong advantage.
• Strong communication skills in Norwegian – verbally and in writing.
• IT skills: Standard MS Office Application Programs and ERP – preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX
• High working capacity
