System Integration Engineer is required to support existing and aid the development of new hardware and software, network and connectivity tools used within the NOV EMS (Equipment Monitoring Services) framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide subject matter expert level support for the configuration, deployment, start-up, field support and troubleshooting of connectivity between NOV systems and its associated components (network distributed between onshore and offshore components).
  • Support NOV Aftermarket Field Engineering and Operations groups with the adaptation of software and network systems to support NOV Rigsentry deliveries
  • Support others through detailed knowledge of networking and communication protocols used within NOV designed and delivered control, monitoring, data logging and data replication systems
  • Ability to read/understand networking schematics, interfaces and interconnect diagrams to support installation of NOV Rigsentry products
  • Be proficient in the use and configuration of OsiSoft PI framework and its tools to support Rigsentry
  • Ability to understand databases and supporting frameworks
  • Develop, document and deliver software tools and processes to improve efficiency of NOV Data Analysts by ensuring data quality and integrity. Have basic understanding of ISO 8000-8 standard
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot associated hardware and software
  • Provide support in the creation, development and maintenance of Commissioning and Software documentation
  • Provide valid, clear and concise reporting on all verification and testing of NOV Rigsentry systems and associated products during development and in the field.
  • Interface and communicate with customers (both internal and external), vendors, I&C personnel and project engineers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of software, network electrical or field operations experience. 
  • 2-3 years of system monitoring experience
  • Advanced knowledge of computer networking concepts and databases
  • Exposure to industrial software development, preferably upstream oil & gas industry

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Network, Database, Integration or testing engineer with some knowledge in software development Proven records and experience may compensate for lack of formal education
  • Ability to troubleshoot operative systems, work independently, search for answers on its own from available formal and non-formal sources, interests in broader knowledge and understanding of technical systems
