The Primary Metal (PM) business area has a total annual production capacity of more than 2 million tons of primary aluminium, in addition to 1 million ton of recycled aluminium.

Hydro has decided to invest in a new unique technology and a new set of metal products, with the potential of providing better quality and reduced costs for the customers doing aluminium forging. 

We are looking for a new Director of Sales for this area. If you are interested in materials technology, experienced in B2B sales, and eager to shape our new product area you should not miss this opportunity!

 

Area of Responsibility

As Director of sales, you will be involved in forming the strategic targets for this new product area. You will also ensure long-term customer relationships at necessary levels with customers. Your main objective will be to ensure sales volumes and to secure prices as targeted in the business plan.

The right person will have the opportunity to think and act innovatively in terms of how we address our customers.

  • Participate and contribute in overall product strategy development and implementation for HyForge Product Area
  • Ensure Key Account relationship at different customer levels including purchasing, quality and technology/innovation
  • Secure sales of Forging Ingots as defined in HyForge business plan
  • Drive new product implementation with customers
  • Sales contract negotiation with customers vs internal targets, involving legal department when required
  • Establish and update customer overview, sales pipeline, sales budgets and marketing plans
  • Gather, analyze and communicate opportunity intelligence and feedback from customers as input to the organization and strategy process

Qualifications

  • Successful business experience in B2B sales
  • Business experience in automotive area (OEM’s and First Tier Suppliers)
  • International working experience is desired
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and German, written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel. Driving license is necessary
  • University degree preferable within materials, mechanical or structural engineering

Additional Information

You will report to the Head of Product Area in Primary Metal Commercial in Oslo. The position is located either in Oslo, Norway or in Bonn, Germany.
