Software House is expanding in Egersund

The energy industry is currently transformed by increased access to data and use of digital technology. We develop software that automates administration, engineering and construction tasks. Software developed is intended both for internal use in the Aker family and for external customers. 

The successful applicant will be part of a growing software house and a product development team in Egersund. We believe that our industrial expertise sets us in a position to deliver great solutions that can redefine how our operators access, understands and interacts with information relevant for their work processes. Establishing a developer team close to our construction activities is hence an important part of the strategy to capture this insight and experience into great software products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and innovative. 

Responsibilities and Tasks 

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Qualifications and Personal Qualities 

Knowledge/skills required: 

• Technical knowledge and understanding of all parts of cloud development
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Extensive experience in software development and scripting
• Experience using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Go) 
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases 
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Enjoy tutoring and mentoring developers
• Lifelong learner!

 Experiences required: 

• Experience (Full stack) from software development including information security. Preferably from cloud projects on Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure
• 4+ years of experience as a developer

 Educational background: 

• University level (science) or relevant experience from Software development and design
