Oceaneering is looking for a talented, motivated, innovative and self-directed Senior System Administrator

The position is part of the Global Infrastructure team with responsibility for Installation and administration of the global server infrastructure for Oceaneering.

About

As a Senior System Administrator in Oceaneering we expect you to be able to work independently and without daily supervision. You will be part of an international team based in the US, UK, India and Australia and our work language is English.

Your workplace will be in our office in Stavanger and primary work hours is 0800-1600, however you will be requested to work some nights and weekends for maintenance and upgrades.

What you will be doing

• Infrastructure Systems management: Data Center, UPS, Storage, Network, and Virtualization.

• Operating systems management on a global scale:  Windows, Linux

• Patch management and Systems Monitoring.

• Usage and management of Microsoft SCCM, SCOM and SCSM.

• Assist communications, business systems, and desktop support groups with troubleshooting issues.

• Troubleshoot problems at all levels from the server to the end user.

• Integration management: Linux, LDAP, and Active Directory.

• Merger and Acquisition activities

• Create support documentation and assist with training other

members of the department to use and provide support for the systems.

• Automation scripting using Shell and PowerShell.

• Analyze system log files and determine appropriate courses of action.

• Participate in on-call rotation and/or after-hours support.  

• International travel may be required.
  
  

Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in computer science, or equivalent education and experience.

- Minimum 6 years experience installing and maintaining Operating systems,

 Infrastructure systems and management systems

- Administration of Storage Area Networks (SAN)

- Be motivated, innovative and self-directed

Desirable skills include:

- Technical Certifications preferred

- Administration of Windows Servers (AD, Powershell)

- Administration of hypervisors (VMWare ESXi)

- Administration of Redhat Linux and Satellite server management

- Experience installing and administering Oracle and Oracle RAC Database Server

- Experience with administration of mail systems (GMail, O365, Mimecast)
