About the role

As part of Xylem’s European Commercial and Procurement team, you will contribute in driving customer satisfaction and procurement value and be part of building a robust and effective procurement organization.

You will have the overall strategic and operational responsibility for procurement of material, services and investments related to given commodities in the Nordics, initially with focus on Norway and Sweden.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Contribute in building and implementing procurement processes, procedures and tools that supports required quality, expectations and secures cost effectiveness and savings.
Lead and support internal stakeholders through the procurement process
Conduct analysis (spend, category, supplier, risk etc.) as a basis for long term planning and sourcing strategies
Contribute in continuous improvement projects and report and follow up on budgets and KPI’s
Develop and manage existing and potential suppliers, including finding, evaluating, negotiations and contracts
Collaborate with the commodity team for centralized commodities and suppliers

Desired background

You should have at least five years of experience from strategic procurement and sourcing from the engineering industry or equivalent.

In addition, it is desirable with the following background and characteristics:

University degree in Engineering, Economics, Logistics or equivalent
Experienced and skilled in negotiation in an international setting
Fluent in oral and written Norwegian and English
Supply Chain Management skills
Legal knowledge and contract experience
Experience from a larger organization and matrix structure will be an advantage
Experience from working on continuous improvement
Strong people skills and ability to build relationships and influence people
