Senior/Principal R&D Engineer (KM 19-025)

Kongsberg Maritime is a world leading supplier of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) and autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USV). We offer robotic systems from sea surface down to 6000 m below the surface. We develop the world leading HUGIN, MUNIN and REMUS AUVs. Kongsberg Maritime Marine Robotics department is now searching for highly competent engineers to develop a revolutionary technique for autonomous underwater navigation.

 Main tasks and responsibilities

• Algorithm development, implementation and test of software for sonar signal processing and navigation
• Efficient implementation of computationally heavy algorithms on embedded HW and GPUs
• Responsible for delivery of technical results within numerical computation

Requirements

• MSc, PhD, or equivalent in mathematics, signal processing, computer science, cybernetics, or similar
• C++ programming experience
• Signal/image processing background or experience, especially within synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) or radar (SAR)
• Beneficial with experience within areas such as numerical mathematics, parallelization, optimization, robotics and control, and distributed architectures
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems is desired
