Product Engineer - Umbilical

Aker Solutions’ Tranby Technology Centre is responsible for manufacturing activities related to qualifying new products and industrialization of new technology as well as delivering field-proven Subsea products such as XMT (Christmas trees), Workover Systems and Boosting. Our site has modern facilities for R&D, Machining/Welding and Assembly/Testing.Aker Solutions' Moss site is the manufacturing centre for umbilicals and is responsible for umbilical deliverables out of Norway.

We are seeking a creative and talented Product Engineer for Umbilical who can strengthen our team.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Responsibility for design tasks within his/her area and producing concepts, drawings, assemblies and parts by means of the SolidWorks CAD system and SAP database tool
• Ownership of assigned areas of product portfolio in project execution phase
• Participation in Design Reviews, kick-off meetings, risk assessments and interface meetings
• Being a team player within the product network
• Supporting product-family development activities and being responsible for the end result and alignment with agreed standards
• Providing effective product knowledge and support to tender and projects
• Ensuring reuse of standard components and systems
• Responsibility for compliance to regulations for health, environment and safety
• Support Product Management in the creation and maintenance of compliance library covering governing and client specifications for all products within assigned product portfolio
• Delivering accurately according to standards, governing requirements and client specifications

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

• BSc/MSc degree with technical focus
• Product knowledge in the allocated product portfolio i.e. design and manufacturing
• Good understanding of product definitions, relevant industry codes and standards
• Excellent communication skills in English and cross-cultural understanding
• Ability to initiate and drive product standardisation
• Independent, hands-on, proactive with a structured way of working
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks
• Good knowledge of SAP ERP system
