Procurement Manager

 

We are strengthening the Commercial team with a Procurement Manager and are looking for a dedicated candidate that would like to be a part of a growing and highly dynamic business unit, dealing with several exciting challenges. The Procurement Manager will be permanently employed at our offices in Stavanger, Norway. We explore for and produce oil and natural gas. Today, our activities are centred in the seas of Norway, Denmark and UK.


Areas of responsibility
In your role as Procurement Manager you will focus on leading the preparation of invitations to tender, evaluations, negotiations and recommendation to award in support of internal departments (operations, projects, drilling, well engineering and decommissioning). Furthermore, you will manage sourcing and administration processes in relation to contracts and procurement activities and ensure procurement activities are carried out in an efficient and fully auditable manner.


Key tasks
• Draft Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and requests for quotations and contracts
• Negotiate contracts
• Review terms and conditions of existing contracts
• Develop contracting and procurement strategies
• Regularly update the Commercial Director on contracting and procurement activities
• Ensure compliance with NCS industry supply chain initiatives
• Ensure a detailed audit trail and records are maintained and available for internal and external review
• Ensure full involvement of the Health and Safety function in the procurement process


Qualifications
• Preferably University Degree (MSc) in relevant Economic or Commercial Discipline
• Preferably a procurement or commercial background with a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience of the NCS market
• In-depth familiarity with upstream Oil & Gas risk management systems, tools, techniques and standards
• Good IT literacy – including SAP & MS Office
• Experienced in leading the drafting of terms and conditions for supply chain contracts for goods and services within the NCS E&P environment
• Excellent presentation and communication (written & oral) skills
• Ability to drive negotiations to achieve the best deal possible
• Fluency in English and preferably knowledge of the Norwegian language
• Commercially astute
• Able to self-manage and work alongside team members
• Able to develop and mentor others
• Able to be a lateral thinker and problem solver
