IT Operations Manager

We are building an IT team to provide Aker Energy with all required IT services. We are looking for an IT Operations Manager to proactively drive day-to-day IT operations, being the natural link between users, business, internal resources and our partners/vendors. This position will ensure Aker Energy, at all times, has the optimal use of and access to IT services, at all Aker Energy locations.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Work with Head of IT to define and execute operating budgets
• Day-to-day monitoring and follow-up of partners and vendors providing IT Services to Aker Energy
• Provide technical leadership and coordination with all IT operational personnel, including support and system administrators
• Lead and participate in IT projects
• Develop, implement and continually refine and improve IT Services, procedures, standards and policies to conform to best practices and SLAs
• Ensure scheduled changes take place with proper testing, monitoring and implementation, at minimal business risk
• Coordinate with other IT areas and business stakeholders on technology deployments, system upgrades and maintenance outages
• Communicate maintenance schedules, operational issues and impacts to IT management and business users
• Serve as a primary escalation point for incident management for IT services
• Perform regular IT audits to discover areas of weaknesses and fortify them
• Understand and identify opportunities to improve IT services and solutions (people, infrastructure, applications, etc.)

Qualifications & personal attributes:

We are looking for a person with more than 7 years’ experience in IT Operations management (operations and support). 

Furthermore, we expect you to have:

• Extensive knowledge of IT operations and network operations center concepts and tools
• In-depth knowledge and experience as a leader and a doer in the IT field
• Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, O365 and Sharepoint
• Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and orally

• Capable of being both hands-on and strategic
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• High degree of personal initiative
• Exceptional attention to detail while at the same time capturing “the big picture”
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
