In Norway, Alstom is engaged in a major signaling project, supporting other activities within the area as well. The signaling project will carry out the renewal of 467 trains with the ERTMS technology with numerous classes of trains (passenger trains, freight trains, works trains).

In parallel there is an increasing need to support tenders and projects in the Nordic countries.

The position will be based in Oslo and you will be primarily in charge of the Project Sourcing scope. You will also support the activities for Indirect Sourcing scope from time to time, working with all functions of the organization, managing operational needs on several key commodities. 

The Project Buyer reports to the SS&I Sourcing Manager based in Copenhagen.

 

Areas of Responsibility and main tasks      

  • Manage operational needs for Alstom Norway on following commodities:
    - Installation Subcontracting
    - B Class Materials (Mechanical and Electrical)
    - C Class Materials
    - Transport & Logistics
    - local Indirect Sourcing activities
  • Strong involvement in local implementation of Alstom Sourcing strategies
  • Manage suppliers according to Global Sourcing strategies and local needs
  • Operational Sourcing responsibility on business awards, suppliers relationship, performance follow-up
  • Data maintenance of Sourcing tools (SAP, SOL, Altes, eProcurement, …)
  • Support deployment of new ERP (SAP GSI)
  • Supplier financial analysis and manage local suppliers relationship
  • Secure contractual coverage (Frame agreements, Specific Agreement, local Agreement, …)
  • Ensure global QCDT targets achievement and claims management
  • Lead supplier QCDT performance reviews

Our Project Buyer will be the operation support of the local ERP (SAP GSI) and ePASS (eProcurement platform). You will apply and deploy the Alstom Sourcing processes and policies and provide return of experience and best practices. You will be in charge of Data Maintenance of Alstom Sourcing tools (SOL, Altes, ePASS, …) and to drive cost savings on Commodities portfolio.  

Skills and education

  • Master degree in Business or Engineering, with major in Purchasing / Supply Chain
  • Experience(s) in similar role(s)
  • Good level in MS Office
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge of contract terms
  • Good knowledge of ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is an asset

To thrive in the role as Project Buyer, you are reliable with good communication skills and are agile, flexible and a team player. You are able to perform under pressure and in a fast changing environment. You are result oriented, precise and accurate and you commit to deadlines. You also have strong interpersonal skills (leadership, communication, ability to convince). Our work language is English and it’s therefore required fluency in speaking, reading and writing. Other languages such as Norwegian, Danish and/or French are considered as an asset, but not a demand.
