Country Controller

Corporate Accounting and Control is responsible for group financial processes in the Fortum Group. Financial Reporting and Compliance is a part of Corporate Accounting and Control and responsible for providing financial information for the external stakeholders in the form of interim and annual reports for Fortum Group, as well as updating Group's accounting principles and practices. 

The team also co-ordinates financial reporting compliance issues in the different countries where Fortum operates and is actively involved in M&A cases and internal restructurings. The work is done in close co-operation with other units of Corporate Accounting and Control, Corporate Tax, Investor Relations, Corporate Communication, Group Treasury as well as with the Divisions and Development/Service units.

 Financial Reporting and Compliance is looking for a Country Controller

Your role

The main responsibilities consist of the following:

Responsible of financial reporting compliance of the legal companies in Norway

Managing and co-ordinating outsourced reporting functions and auditor contacts

Participating in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes

Co-ordinating internal restructurings, supporting acquisitions and organisational change projects

Follow up of changes in the local rules and regulations

Participating in implementation of new Norwegian GAAP, IFRS and tax rules  

Working closely with the local tax manager in tax compliance and tax reporting issues 

As a Country Controller you will have the opportunity to develop your competences working with diverse projects and issues ranging from technical accounting, tax and consolidation questions to internal restructurings and process development topics. You will be part of a professional and international team within Corporate Accounting and Control.

Your qualifications

A successful candidate for this position holds a M.Sc. (Econ.) or corresponding degree with major in accounting/finance/tax or has an extensive experience in working with these areas. A systematic way of working and the general understanding of the connection between business decisions, accounting (both IFRS and Norwegian GAAP), tax rules and Companies act is a necessity. Experience in HFM is an advantage. He/she is analytical and open-minded, has good co-ordination skills and has a flexible attitude to cope with tight schedules and diversified tasks. Excellent personal skills and ability to work in a team, as well as on own initiative and good command of English are essential.

The position is permanent and based in Oslo, Norway.

Excellence skills in Norwegian (or Swedish) and English is needed.
