Structural and Floating Engineer

We are now looking for Structural and Floating Engineer to strengthen our organization to support development of our oil discovery offshore Ghana.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Project phase

• Develop, review and implement requirements for subsea production and mooring system with selected suppliers based on Aker Energy project standards
• Participate in design and construction phase of FPSO with special attention to structural design developed by FPSO supplier

Operations phase

• Monitor FPSO supplier management of structural/hull system through regular meetings and audits
• Act as Technical Authority for mooring systems
• Act as Company Technical Authority for FPSO structural and hull system

Key responsibilities and tasks

• Carry out Structural design work and related activities as assigned in project
• Prepare the Structural deliverables as assigned in project
• Provide consultation and review of FPSO engineering design packages
• Assist other disciplines in accordance with Project/operation requirements
• Write or review company standards, procedures, and best practices in your area of expertise
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Offshore Structures Integrity Management Manual, with respect to topside, hull and mooring structures
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the structure, hull and mooring RBI strategy and maintenance practices in line with Class Rules, industry codes, standards and guidelines as per Aker Energy requirements
• Participate in design review meetings in accordance with Project requirements
• Act as Technical Authority for Structural issues

Qualifications & personal attributes:

• As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelor degree in civil, marine engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred
• You will have a minimum of 15 years' of extensive experience in detailed structural design, fabrication, and installation
• In-depth knowledge of the analysis and design of offshore structures including: In-place, load out, transportation, installation, fatigue, floatation and upending analyses and assessment, Vessel hull and mooring systems, Hydrodynamic forces on jackets and floating structures & Ultimate strength analysis using LRFD codes, reserve strength analysis, and push-over analysis
• Be familiar with related international codes and standards, such as API, Class, ISO, BS, ASTM
• Experience in operation of offshore assets in Ultra-Deep Waters
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills
