OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Subsea 7 need to increase our engineering capacity with emphasis on Structural analysis and design. We are looking for Senior Structural Engineers, for positions within the Subsea Structures Discipline and within the discipline for Structural Design for Operations.
• Key responsibilities, Subsea structures:
o Design and calculation of permanent subsea structures such as PLEM, Riser base, SSIV, Tee & Protection Structures. This will typically include structure and piping design reports
o Liaise with the relevant stakeholder’s e.g. pipeline design-, installation- and fabrication discipline
o Prepare specifications/design premises for design of permanent structures
o Prepare cost estimates and material take-off for study/tenders
• Key responsibilities, Structural Design for Operations:
o Design and calculation of installation aids, in steel and aluminium. These could be items such as lifting equipment and hang-off structures
o Sea fastening design and calculations. Examples are items such as winches and outriggers, and templates and manifolds
o Follow up the procurement, fabrication, mobilisation and installation of the designed equipment
Qualifications:
• The candidates shall have a relevant engineering degree (Msc- or Bsc degree)
• Strong technical knowledge within design of subsea structures. Preferably steel design, other relevant experience will be evaluated
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Relevant software experience (e.g. STAAD.Pro, ANSYS)
• Experienced with design according to some of the following standards: NORSOK, DNV, Eurocode, ISO and ASME
Personal skills:
• Strong analytical skills.
• Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
• Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
• The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision
• The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously
• Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
• Able to motivate and contribute to a positive working environment
