Senior Service Designer

For our Customer Experience Innovation team in Nydalen, Oslo, we are looking for an experienced Service Design professional to take on the role of Senior Service Designer. This opportunity is a permanent position aiming to reinforce our existing team.

What will you be doing in this role?

As a Senior Service Designer at Telia Norway you will work out of our innovation lab with a team using design sprint methodologies to discover innovative solutions, develop prototypes and conduct experiments to validate new ideas. In this role you will:

  • Take a leading role in the practical application of best practice Design thinking in order to truly transform our customer experiences.
  • Apply strategic thinking to design, and design and support effective and engaging end­-to-­end experiences which balance customer needs, business goals and technological realities across platforms and channels.
  • Develop empathy for our customers to understand how our products and services impact their lives, research and devise experiments to test and improve their experiences.
  • Combine qualitative and quantitative insight into robust evidence-based and customer-centric design decisions.
  • Support our brands in designing next generation customer journeys.
  • Connect insights to design to conceptualize compelling solutions that drive strong engagement and deepens the relationship with our customers.
  • Create an organization-wide network of like-minded Service Design professionals.

For the Senior Service Designer role specifically, it is important that you have:

  • A deeper understanding of how trends, strategy and technology converts into meaningful and innovative solutions using Design thinking.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills that translate well into engaging stories and compelling narratives that resonate across all levels of the organization.
  • Solid experience using Design thinking methodologies and tools such as customer research, customer journey mapping, service blueprinting, low fidelity prototyping, sketching and storyboarding.
  • A genuine curiosity and passion for open ended exploration using methods such as jobs to be done, customer interviews, ethnographic observation, workflow analysis and contextual inquiry.
  • Courage to challenge our existing mindset and cultural traditions to help us transform into a company that puts the customer at the core of our business.
  • An inner drive to help cross-functional teams be focused, curious and creative.

Other factors that may tip the scale in your favor:

  • Experience from working as a designer in an innovation capacity and a proven track record of successful Design thinking deliverables.
  • Strong academic results from education relevant to design thinking, innovation or other relevant experience that makes you highly qualified for this line of work.
  • A toolbox with components from customer experience, lean startup and design sprints.
