As we implement our Industry 4.0 program, the production units at Hydro Sunndal will change greatly through elements such as predictive maintenance, big data, automatization, robotics, IT networks and infrastructure. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to this exciting transition, with a specific focus on automation, operational big data and predictive maintenance.

Hydro Sunndal is a frontrunner in Primary Metal’s Industry 4.0 transformation efforts. This effort will give exiting opportunities within technology development and implementation for many years forward.

Area of Responsibility

As part of the Project and Maintenance unit you will contribute to implementing and running relevant elements of Industry 4.0 in production units.?Some key tasks:

  • Develop and implement systems for big data capture and analytics
  • Develop suitable solutions to enable condition monitoring of equipment and processes?
  • Plan, execute and lead projects
  • Enhance performance of existing machinery and maintenance systems
  • Develop analytic tools to optimize production and maintenance processes
  • Plan, execute and lead projects
  • Take part in optimization initiatives
  • Communicate with stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree within Mechanical Engineering, Cybernetics & Robotics, Applied Physics and Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Economics and Technology Management, Electronics Systems Design or Nanotechnology
  • Maximum 2 years of work experience after graduation
  • Good academic results
  • Good communication and cooperation skills
  • Engagement through student activities is an advantage
  • Passion for big data and analytics combined with operations, maintenance and technology development
  • Knowledge of relevant tools such as FMECA, RCM, Power BI and Python is an advantage
  • Knowledge of control systems and smart sensors
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian?
