Hydro's business unit Specialty Products supplies the electronics industry with high purity aluminium in the purity range of 4N (99.99 %) and 5N (99.999 %). High purity aluminium is a necessity in all high-tech products, as base materials for electrolytic capacitor, semiconductors, flat panels, and other applications.

Hydro is a global leading supplier for this type of aluminium, which is produced at Hydro Vigelands Brug in Vennesla, Norway, and further processed in Grevenbroich, Germany. A separate sales and technical support office is based in Tokyo, Japan, as a hub for the business in Asia. All three locations excel in competence, resulting in reliability and defined quality to meet the extremely high demands of our customers.

For our metal refinery in Vigeland, we are looking for a leader with a strong capability to manage and develop the plant, in an exciting environment of change and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to run a small and highly skilled organization, which is world leading in its field.

Area of Responsibility

As Plant Manager you will be overall responsible for the business and the organization, with a focus on driving operational improvements and organizational development.

You will report to the Head of Specialty Products and be a member of the Specialty Products management team in Hydro. Tasks will include:

• Manage the plant’s day-to-day business and affairs in accordance with annual business plans and budgets
• Run the annual performance management cycle, including strategy development, business planning and budgeting
• Secure good HSE results, provide strategic HSE leadership and continuously build an HSE culture
• Be a driver for digitalization and innovation in the production process
• Ensure that the plant complies with regulatory requirements, Hydro procedures and directives
• Hire, develop and lead the management team, fostering a climate of accountability and collaboration
• Contribute to the strategic development of the high purity aluminium business

Qualifications

• University degree, preferably in a technical field
• Proven track-record from an industrial company, demonstrating the understanding of production processes
• Excellent analytical and project management skills
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English and Norwegian is required, German is an asset
