Senior Product Engineer - Pump Systems

Aker Solutions is building a new technology center in Tranby, Norway, to strengthen the product development organization and develop new business ideas, concepts and products.

Aker Solutions’ Pump Product department in Norway has a global responsibility for product management, R&D and support functions to tender, projects and subsea lifecycle services. The goal is to develop and deliver standardized pump systems for subsea use worldwide. We are a strong dedicated and competent team with our own developed subsea pump and motor technology, and with excellent test facilities for R&D and project deliveries.

Due to increasing work load we are now in the process of strengthening our team with the following position:

Senior Product Engineer - Pump Systems

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Ensuring that the assigned engineering scope of work is defined, planned and executed according to client contracts and our Project Execution Model (PEM)
• Executing and presenting system design, calculations, hydraulic/power/signal analysis, detail design, preparation of drawings and part lists, document checking and interfacing system
• Participating in design review plans within product areas/work packages and taking into account previous lessons learnt
• Ensuring communication and alignment with all relevant on-going qualification programs
• Ensuring that all alterations, modifications or changes within product areas/work packages are brought to the attention of the responsible technical lead
• Ensuring proper quality, planning and on time delivery of assigned scope

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

• M.Sc. or equivalent degree within mechanical or process engineering
• Minum 5 years of relevant subsea product area engineering experience – preferably linked to pumps or compressor deliveries for oil and gas industry
• Preferably good knowledge of SAP
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Practical, systematic, proactive and analytical
• Good integrity and ethical values
• Ability to work well under stress and time pressure
