Hydraulic Mechanic

Responsibilities and contributions

We are now looking for a Hydraulic Mechanic to join our offshore operations in Norway. 

The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections and repairs on hydraulic equipment in all areas onboard:

• Carrying out inspections, repairs and maintenance of the hydraulic installations and equipment.
• Monitoring the condition of hydraulic parts of the drilling equipment.
• Implementation of outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management.
• Carry out periodic maintenance according to the planned maintenance guidelines and coordinate same with supervisors and other departments.
• Maintain equipment manuals, service reports and advise supervisor on condition of equipment and spare parts availability.
• Acquire sufficient knowledge about regulations related to safety and working environment, and to the Management System, "Safety Policy" and "Environmental Policy" of Maersk Drilling, to ensure compliance with these regulations and procedures in the daily duties on board.
• Maintain a good working environment in all working areas and ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Have knowledge of the system for Work Permit.

Required competencies

• Preferably you have an offshore background.
• Hydraulic certificate (Cetop level 2).
• Experience with drilling related hydraulic systems and equipment.
• Safety Training Courses and Medical Certificate in accordance with the requirements stipulated for regular crew by the continental shelf authority for the current operating area.
• You should be proficient in safety management principles and possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Fluent in English both verbal and written.
• You are a motivated team worker.
