Business Performance Analyst/ Data Scientist

For our Ocean team in Oslo we are looking for a candidate for the position Business Performance Analyst/ Data Scientist in the Business Performance and Tonnage team.

• The role is envisaged to include performance management and measurement, management reporting and analysis, profitability analysis, forecasting, productivity analysis, procurement, costs and quality reporting and analysis as well as advanced analytics, optimisation and more modern data science capabilities
• The role will support, align and coordinate with Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Planning organisations in coordinating the delivery of and volume forecasts and budgets.

Core functions in respect of performance management and data analysis are:

• Finding/accessing/acquiring or creating the necessary data and data sources
• Gleaning insights and understanding in respect of the business drivers and improvement areas through monitoring, modelling, statistical analysis, learning, mining, or visualization.
• Delivering results/recommendations based on the same and moving the organisation towards actions.

 The role reports to the Head of Business Performance and Tonnage.

Main responsibilities and tasks

• Maintenance and development of the Ocean analytics tools models and portfolio.
• Top line revenue, BAF, rate, analysis
• Bottom line result and profitability analysis
• Forecasting, methodology, process and accuracy
• Operational and financial modelling.
• KPI definition, measurement and follow up.
• Manage or participate in strategic projects & ad/hoc analyses, reporting or presentations as required.
• Procurement, productivity, and cost analytics.
• Follow-up on SLAs toward sister and parent companies.
• Quality and ownership of data and sources.

 Main Qualifications (skills, competence, and behavior):

• Higher education
• Strong Numerical, Analytical and Presentational skills
• Strong technical competence in respect of accessing and presenting information.
• Exposure to modern BI and data analytics or data science methodologies, machine learning, optimization etc.
• Knowledge of business models, performance drivers, operations, systems, processes, financials, A candidate who is commercially and financially aware.
• Prior experience in analytical, statistical, or financial business functions.
• Very Strong excel, data analysis and PowerPoint,Tableau, QlikView or Power BI
• Must be able to self serve and access/create base level data.
