What do you mean by AutoCopter ?
Our product is an automatic helicopter or AutoCopter - a mini helicopter that can be directed by inexperienced operators or that can be pre-programmed to fly a specific mission.
The AutoCopter is a self-stabilized unmanned mini-helicopter that can be used as an aerial platform in the sky. Applications include aerial photography, surveillance, pipeline and utility line inspection, crop health monitoring, etc. For those wanting to perform aerial photography the helicopter will maintain stability and position at whatever altitude (under 500 feet to stay within FAA regulations!). Payload capacity will be around 14 lb. A turnkey aerial video system can be provided at additional cost.
The operator, without any helicopter piloting experience, can move the helicopter (via the joysticks on the transmitter) forward, backward, sideways, and vertically. A Windows program will also be included to perform mission planning (on a laptop computer) within a 1.5-mile radius of the transmitter. The operator will use the laptop software to construct a GPS waypoint grid over a map of the desired location. The GPS track coordinates are then downloaded to the flight computer.
Basic avionics consist of a PC/104 computer, attitude & heading reference system, GPS receiver (WAAS compatible), downward-pointing range finder (ultrasonic sensor), barometric pressure sensor, and heading-hold gyro. The standard transmitter is used as the "ground station".
