Manager, Application Management – Digital Factory

About the Unit

The Application Management team is part of the newly established Digital Factory within Yara International.  This Digital Factory will drive excellence within digital development and will deliver high-quality digital solutions that combine customer-focus and technology by working closely with the business segments of the commercial organization.

The Application Management team’s primary objective is to work with Yara’s digital application portfolio: to maintain technical expertise of each application, to provide tier 3 operational support as needed, to set operational SLA’s and ensure business continuity, and to modernize each application per the directives of the owning Commercial business.

Responsibilities

• Operate, modernize, maintain and support global  digital applications related to Yara’s sales and marketing operations, including versions handling
• Front line management of a small team of application experts to ensure Yara’s digital portfolio is both operational and modernized
• Works with both product owners and IT operators to create a viable operational model (including SLA’s and Digital Operational Strategy) for the digital portfolio and ensures that operation is executed accordingly
• Interfaces with the Commercial business to define operational parameters, architectural guidelines, design plans and migration paths for the modernization of the existing legacy applications within the digital portfolio.  Forms and leads projects to execute those plans
• Ensure business continuity by maintaining accurate and current technical documentation about all existing applications within the digital portfolio
• Be a discussion partner and advise the Commercial organization about new digital opportunities
• Work with the rest of the Factory to establish a culture that ensures quality and efficiency in digital development
• Keep up to date on trends and apply best practice methodologies to both create and maintain a competitive digital strategy 

Profile

• Higher university degree (Master level or equivalent)
• IT Service Management experience (ITIL considered a plus), including Application Portfolio management, service delivery and IT Operations support
• Experience in leading development teams, setting architectural vision and motivating teams throughout the SDLC from project inception to delivery
• Experience working with Scrum or other agile development methodologies 
• Ability to work independently and in teams – and connecting with all levels of the organization
• Clear leadership attitude, strong business judgment, strategic mindset, drive and “can do attitude”
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• As this is a position working with Global teams, fluency in English is required.  Other languages are considered a plus
