Senior Medium Voltage Development Engineer (JobID254810)

The Senior Medium Voltage Development Engineer will be the principal engineer for subsea medium voltage switchgear and protection solutions within the Product Development and Management department

Areas of Responsibility

The Senior Medium Voltage Development Engineer will be working with these tasks

• Technical responsibility and product management of subsea medium voltage switchgears
• Technical coordination of subsea medium voltage part of R&D projects
• Design and qualification of all medium voltage and  subsea power equipment including auxiliary systems, control and protection
• Modeling and simulation of complete subsea electric power distribution systems
• Building of subsea medium voltage equipment prototypes
• Planning and execution of qualification tests for subsea medium voltage equipment

• Support sales with technical proposals, drawings, pricing calculations and technical reviews
• Support conceptual studies and front end engineering related to subsea medium voltage power systems

Some travel activity may be required to visit domestic and international customer sites as well as offshore facilities from time to time.

Experience and qualifications

• Master or PhD in MV/HV Power Systems. Relevant experience may compensate in case of undergraduate formal education
• Relevant experience from subsea oil & gas business (minimum 5 years) preferably with a track record in medium voltage system design
• Knowledge of electrical field calculations and tools
• Experience in technical coordination roles in projects
• Good knowledge of all relevant and  applicable international standards for medium voltage electrical power switchgears
• Good capability to collaborate with international teams and different company cultures
• Proven ability and capability to work in a development oriented environment with strong focus on client requirements.
