Njord A was put in service in 1997. The platform was optimized in regard of load capacity and fatigue life of the main structure. In the late stages of the project the fatigue life was extended with 9 years to 2022. Following an inspection campaign in 2013 the facility was shut down due to damages in the main structure. A repair and reinforcement project has been executed and finalized in 2014. The facility is back in service without drilling services from summer 2014. Njord Future Platform Upgrade project is a platform technology project where the overall objective is to reinforce and modify hull structure and topside structure. The modified facility shall be able to operate without major restrictions. Njord platform will have to be towed to shore in 2016 due to insufficient structural integrity. The Njord Future project has been established to assess possible solution for exploiting the remaining reserves in the Njord area, and the platform is scheduled to be upgraded.
Strategy, Plan, Prepare and Execute all Coating activities related to all phases on the Njord A Project.
Overall responsibility for coating activities in the project:
- Follow up towards engineering, prefabrication and suppliers.
- Support other ongoing projects on coating and surface issues in the forst month, from April 100% in Njord.
- Travel or mobility to Sites( Norway or Europe will be required for engineering follow up, and installation onshore)
Qualifications
- BSc or equivalent competence within coating technology, polymer materials and insulation. At least 8 years’ of experience in coating technology and follow up coating activities and insulation work in project development
- Experience with engineering contractors
- High focus on HSE, ethics and values
- Well-developed cooperational- and communication abilities
- Ability to work structured, systematic and towards a target
- Multidiscipline understanding and ability to work ‘across’ all areas in the project
- Ability to handle responsibility and periodically high work loads
- Mobility is required
