Jotun is currently experiencing high growth and will strengthen the organisation with a R&D chemist in the
Analytical Laboratory. The Analytical Laboratory plays an important role in the development of coatings as well
as providing services for regulatory affairs and complaint investigations. The team is organised within, and
cooperates with, the central R&D team as well as with Jotuns Regional laboratories on a global basis.

The main responsibilities for the new chemist will be analysis and characterization of products and paint related
samples using various analytical techniques. We are looking for a chemist with a creative personality and strong
multi-disciplinary interests. Candidates with background in Polymer characterisation or Synthetic chemistry and
experience in Size-exclusion Chromatography will be preferred. Other candidates will also be considered
depending on the relevance of experience.

Tasks

Take part in the various analytical tasks presented to the Analytical laboratory by its customers
Contribute to the development of new products with required analyses and method development
Assist Jotuns Technical Service team through analysis related to complaint investigation
Analysis of competitor products
Participate in instrument maintenance and other regular tasks in the laboratory
Perform analyses using a range of instruments: GC-MSD, LC-MSD, FTIR, SEM, GPC

Qualifications

Experience within the relevant field with focus on instrumental analysis
Ability to evaluate a problem in analytical chemistry and use the right method to solve it
