Information Systems is the central IS organization in Hydro with more than 70 IS professionals. Information Systems' main objectives are to support Hydro's business areas and corporate management. Information Systems has high focus on proactive technologies and innovation. Programs in the field of Industry 4.0 and analytics are ongoing.

APICS is one of the core applications used in the production processes at Hydro’s smelters and foundries. The APICS application is developed with modern system development methods in cooperation with our business units, and implemented in Europe, USA, South America and Asia. The APICS team, mainly located in Årdal, is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the APICS application as well as providing 24/7 application support.

Area of Responsibility

As a member of the APICS development team, you are responsible for:

Software engineering
Solution architecture development
Development of desktop applications, mobile apps and IoT solutions
Collaboration with user communities in development processes
Test and implementation activities
Project participation within Industry 4.0 related activities
Opportunity to contribute to Hydro’s digital transformation and use of modern IT technology in an industrial context

Qualifications

Master or Bachelor degree within Information Technology.

2-4 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Experience with agile development processes and methods.

Experience from software development based on platforms and technologies like:

JAVA
Cassandra & Spark
Relational databases (Oracle , SQLserver)
OPC
Windows and Linux
Azure
Android / IOS or cross-platform mobile development platforms/frameworks

Experience from development of industrial applications or automation systems.

Able to document and share competence/knowledge in the team.

Able to cooperate both within and across organizational boundaries, as well as being able to work independently, take responsibility and show initiative.

Good communication skills.

Fluent in English and Norwegian, German is an advantage.
