Hywind Scotland project will install a 30 MW wind turbine farm on floating structures at Buchan Deep, 25 km offshore Peterhead, harnessing Scottish wind resources to provide renewable energy to the mainland. The wind farm will power around 20,000 households. Production start is expected in late 2017. The pilot park will cover around 4 square kilometres, at a water depth of 95-120 metres. The average wind speed in this area of the North Sea is around 10 metres per second.
Assist Electrical Engineer in project with:
- Electrical engineering and equipment related to tower and Aibel workpackages
- Follow up of various electrical verification work
- Perform discipline electrical engineering work
- Work in close cooperation with lead electrical engineer and lead system engineer
- Participation in FATs and other testing activities as needed
Typical tasks:
- Perform all tasks within the Electrical discipline - Responsible for the technical basis for Electrical design, including relevant parts of Design Basis, TORG and project specific technical requirements including construction
- Responsible for the total integrity in the Electrical design for the total facilities, and for ensuring that this is aligned with Operations
- Achieve standardisation where this is beneficial and relevant
- Contribute to establish construction plan at assembly site
- Identify and evaluate project change proposals (PCP) and non-conformance requests (NCR) related to Electrical design
- Ensure high focus and proper handling of interfaces within Electrical design
- Continuous focus on identifying and handling Risks in Electrical design. Carry out verification activities towards Contractors
- Responsible for maturing the Electrical design in the detailed engineering phase to DG4 level
- Establish close dialog with relevant Contractor personnel and with other disciplines
- Follow-up of Contractor’s engineering and construction activities and performance within Electrical design, with emphasis on elements that might have significant effect on technical quality, contract, schedule, cost, interfaces (cross-discipline and physical) and HSE
- Ensure that Electrical design is developed and aligned with relevant requirements and the professional ladder
- Follow-up of identified packages
- Ensure mechanical completion for handover to commissioning – both relevant PO’s and at assembly site
- Participate in area/system punch out and monitor MC status in ProcoSys
- Ensure experience transfer from other similar projects, and feedback to the base organisation and other projects
- Support other disciplines, construction and commissioning teams
Competence
- University degree in electrical power engineering. Longer relevant experience may compensate for less formal education.
- Hands on approach is required together with good cooperation skills (several suppliers and contractors to be dealt with – not one EPC contractor).
- Experience within operations of wind turbine generators is an advantage
- Knowledge of British regulations and standards is an advantage
- Knowledge and experience High and Low Voltage system as well as Power Control system.
- Knowledge to instrument experience is an advantage.
- HSE skills, including focus at electrical safety.
- Knowledge to ARIS OM05.12 (Safe work on electrical installations) is an advantage
- Minimum 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Hordaland – Stord - Engineering team is located in Oslo / Fornebu. The electrical engineer has to be flexible on location in the beginning and be able to participate in engineering activities in Oslo and other locations as needed. The engineer will follow the project to Stord for construction / commissioning activities follow-up (estimated from January / February 2017) and need to be able to be present at site (Stord) 5 days a week during this period.
