EHS Director for the Silicon Carbide and Quartz Department

We are looking for a new EHS Director for the Silicon Carbide and Quartz Department. The EHS Director is responsible for the coordination of the environmental, health and safety activities at Saint-Gobain Silicon Carbide and Quartz sites World-Wide. This responsibility includes ensuring that the plants have sustainable EHS management systems to continually improve their EHS performance.

For Norwegian entities the responsibility is extended to include monitoring compliance with national law and regulation related to EHS issues. The work location will be at our factory in Lillesand. Travelling abroad to meet team members at other sites will be necessary.

The EHS Director will be a part of the management team of the Silicon Carbide Department and report to the Silicon Carbide General Manager in Paris.

Position description:

- Maintain and continue to develop the Silicon Carbide internal EHS standard and requirements for safe Silicon Carbide production.

- Participate and contribute in the department’s strategic work.

- EHS systems implementation and safety culture establishment (PDCA).

- Develop and maintain the department’s KPIs for EHS development and performance.

- Perform audits to ensure compliance with EHS standards.

- Being the Department’s expert on health (Industrial Hygiene) and environmental matters related to Silicon Carbide production.

Profile description:

Knowledge/Education:

- Relevant Master- or Bachelor degree.

Experience:

- EHS and Management experience. Five or more years’ experience with a proven track record of success in reducing occupational injuries and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Skills:

- EHS Management systems, change management, inter-cultural understanding,

- Sound understanding of technical & process topics, communication, open to differences, networking.
