Primary Metal Technology (PMT) is responsible for research and development related to primary production of aluminium. Hydro is world leading within aluminium production technology and has high ambitions for further development. Together with colleagues in the technology organization our graduates will take part in developing next generation smelter technology and implement new technology at Hydro's smelters in Norway and abroad. At the technology center in Årdal, we have full-scale testing facilities as well as laboratories where we can bring ideas, theory and academic knowledge into technological solutions.  

Hydro has in-house developed process control system and we are looking for candidates to strengthen the competence and capacity within cybernetics, robotics and big data analysis in our Proces Control discipline.

Area of Responsibility

Together with the team, you will:

• Contribute to development and implementation of model based control systems
• Take part in optimization, implementation of new technology and support to Hydro's operations worldwide
• Plan and execute technology development projects
• Contribute to process data analysis in an Industry 4.0 setting

Qualifications

• Master degree or PhD within Cybernetics, data processing and analysis
• Preferably experience with estimator and model based control system
• Analytical mindset, result oriented and with ability to define and achieve targets
• Proven ability to work with others as well as taking lead in a team
• Good communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills Fluency in English and preferably Norwegian
• Graduates as well as candidates with some years of experience are welcome to apply
