HR in Hydro consists of three specialized areas: Global HR, HR Business Partners and HR Competence Centers (HR CC). The role of the HR Business Partners in Hydro is to provide strategic HR support to the management team at business area or plant level.

We are now searching for an HR Business Partner to Hydro’s plant at Sunndal.

Area of Responsibility

  • Take part in further shaping the plant strategic direction as an HR partner in the management team.
  • Establish and follow up the overall organization and development plan for the plant.
  • Give support to plant management team in understanding operational priorities and advise on the need for strategic change and continuous improvement related to people and organization
  • Monitor and drive achievement against HR KPIs at plant and Hydro level. Identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure deployment of People/HR strategies, policies, guidelines and initiatives towards the plant organization
  • Provide necessary coaching to assist line managers become more skilled and independent in people management processes
  • Ensure that resources are aligned to the plant Business Plan through the development of effective manpower and training strategies
  • Be an active partner to management on resolving complex/escalated individual employee relations or performance issues
  • Ensure compliance with global policies, local legislation and labor agreements at plant level
  • Manage key relationships with local employee representatives

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Master’s Degree in science, business or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience within HR and/or line management function
  • Good business understanding and ability to communicate efficiently with managers
  • Ability to identify strategic HR needs and develop and improve HR strategies, policies, guidelines, initiatives and performance measures
  • Ability to think strategically and to analyze business trends and options to devise a holistic and long term plan to meet future needs at the plant
  • Ability to provide professional advices to business and develop others by coaching and advising other managers
  • Knowledge of change management activities, tools and techniques
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian
