QA Engineer

Nyhamna Expansion project is a brownfield mega project, where the onshore facilities for processing of Ormen Lange gas will be expanded to receive and export 3rd party gas. The project is into the 4th and final year of execution, with mechanical work due to complete early 2017, handed over to operations expected mid-2017. The Project Quality Lead position is on the construction Site leadership team for the project.

Base location: Nyhamna, regular 5/2 work pattern. Non commuters preferred.

JOB PURPOSE & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Lead Quality team for delivery of Quality Management on the Nyhamna Projects (mainly the Nyhamna Expansion Project) to ensure project objectives are met.
• Team leader for Project Quality team on site, ca 7 FTE, through last phase of project execution, commissioning, close out/hand-over to operations.
• Support construction team on day to day basis through close working relationships in order to achieve the project objectives re HSE, Quality, costs and schedule.
• Deliver verifications and controls as per existing control and inspection activities defined in ITPs, flawless work scope, inspection plans, audits.
• Evaluate, screen, record, instigate handing of all quality related findings and incidents.
• Update assurance and verification plans
• Participate in, or lead, audits.
• Report status in Quality on Nyhamna projects to Project Leadership Team.
• Maintain resourcing of team in accordance with approved CTR. This includes de-manning from 1Q2017.
• Effective and risk-based prioritization of team resources.
• Work effectively with and through EPCm contractor quality team.

QIRMS. DIMENSIONS:

Team Leader of 7 people on construction site. Although the position does not have direct budget responsibility, the incumbent is expected to have the overview of team expenditures and adhere with budgets and CTRs at all times.

SPECIAL CHALLENGES:

• Implement Quality Management in alignment with standards through EPCm, and with the established plans already in place. At the stage the project is in, the focus is on implementation and delivery of existing plans, not developing new.
• Quickly onboard in critical role during peak construction Brownfield environment with the associated Process Safety risks
• Keep a team of contractors motivated in last phase of project delivery including ramp-down.

EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

• Understanding of ISO 9000 series of standards and general knowledge of Engineering standards (NORSOK) that are commonly used in the industry.
• Ability to quickly find risk-based and constructive solutions on arising quality issues through a pragmatic, hands-on attitude, without compromising integrity.
• Qualified and/or experienced Lead Auditor.
• Ability to provide leadership in an environment of competing priorities and diverse activities and issues.
• Self-starter, self-motivated, open minded, strongly team oriented with a passion to drive first time right delivery through top class Quality Management.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
• Fluent English is required and Norwegian language skills is strongly preferred.
• University degree or equivalent (preferably M.Sc.), or recognized professional technical qualification
• Solid, ca 20 yr, experience and proven track record from similar roles, i.e. Quality management and Contractor Quality management in Upstream and/or Downstream Brownfield projects in a senior leadership position.
