We are looking for a talented engineer to project manage the development of a rotary steerable drilling tool for 6 to 6 ¾" holesize applications (referred to as the 500 Series Tool).

Tasks

The person will be expected to:
Be an active member of the 2TD leadership team contributing to strategy development and business planning, QHSE performance and risk management.
Lead a 6 person plus multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for designing the 500 Series rotary steerable drilling tool. Key tasks will include setting detailed objectives and plans for the design and qualification of the tool, quality control of all work carried out by the team, risk management, resource allocation, budgeting and cost control for all aspects of the project.
Be a natural leader who can build a strong and innovative team culture with a "can-do" approach to problem solving. He/she should also be good at performance managing people, fully prepared to intervene when individual objectives are not being met.
Identify, promote and protect intellectual property and/or know-how that are consistent with the company strategy.
Identify and communicate with suppliers that are engaged in delivering aspects of the development project, intervening proactively when expectations are not being met.
Implement and monitor all relevant company policies, engineering processes and quality control procedures within the 500 Series Team.

Qualifications

A university engineering qualification (BSc, Masters or PhD). Formal qualifications can however be compensated for with relevant work experience.
At least 10 years of experience in the development and/or operation of downhole tools and equipment in the Oil & Gas industry;
At least 5 years of project management experience.
Working knowledge of relevant design and modeling packages (2TD currently uses Inventor, Ansys and Altium);
Good written and spoken Norwegian and English.

Job Location:
The position will be based at the company´s offices in Ålgård near Stavanger. The offices are co-located with the machining and testing facilities that will be used for product development.
