SENIOR MATERIAL ENGINEER

Act as Technical Authority for material discipline (TA2)

Ensure familiarization with Company Contract and related documents and specifications

Ensure familiarization with Project Management System and related processes and procedures

Ensure schedule familiarization, in particular with activities and milestone details affecting own area

Participate in regular project material discipline meetings, and relevant L2L meetings

Establish and maintain a monthly look-ahead plan of own activities and priorities, with special focus on areas of concern

Pro-actively identify need for design review, audits and surveillance activities related to own area based on existing plans

Responsible to ensure that SPS Contractor demonstrates and documents consistency in the process from material selection, to design / verification, to fabrication, documentation and as-built

Responsible to ensure that SPS Contractor implements and maintains requirements for procedures and processes within manufacturing of materials, material suppliers, qualifications, welding, NDT, coating, corrosion protection, fabrication, material control, verification and documentation within the Maria SPS area

Responsible for quality control and review of selected and critical Contractor- and Supplier procedures and specifications

Responsible to ensure that SPS Contractor and SPS Contractor’s Suppliers welding- and NDT personnel qualifications and certification are according to project requirements

Responsible to ensure that SPS Contractor implements and maintains special focus on CRA material

handling, welding and re-establishment of initial corrosion resistance

Responsible to ensure that SPS Contractor utilizes the TQ- and deviation request system as and when

applicable, in own area

Contribute with assessments for timely responses to the SPS contractor for all discipline related technical query’s (TQ system), deviation requests (DR system) and non-conformances (NCR system) raised, in cooperation and liaison with Maria Materials Lead

Contribute to the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes (PCC system) and variation order proposals (VO/VOR system) relating to materials area in cooperation and liaison with Maria Materials Lead

Ensure timely response to actions raised in project action register and PIMS, in addition to contributing to identifying project- and Company risks

Ensure and follow up material related reporting requirements of the SPS Contractor

Act as part of the SPS site team, participate in site team activities, and give timely support to package

engineers

Participate in safety review meetings (HAZID, HAZOP)

Follow up of material relevant interfaces within the SPS contract

Presence at other sites according to Company needs

Competence Requirements/ Kompetansekrav:

University degree at minimum Bachelor (preferably Master) degree in a material engineering subject.

Minimum 10 years within corrosion assessment, material selection, welding, NDT, corrosion coatings,

corrosion protection and fabrication experience of subsea systems, preferably within the NCS oil and gas industry

Good Knowledge of relevant PSA- and NORSOK requirements and Statoil technical requirements (TRs)

Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and relevant design codes

Good knowledge of subsea production structures and component functionality

Good knowledge of design methodology for pressure retaining equipment

Good knowledge of material manufacturing processes
