Primary Metal Technology is responsible for research and development related to primary production of aluminium. Hydro is world leader within aluminium production technology. At the technology center in Årdal, we have full-scale testing facilities as well as laboratory where we can do testing, bring ideas, theory and academic knowledge into technological solutions. The technology organization in Primary Metal has 132 employees.
To strengthen the competence and capacity in our Process Control discipline, we are looking for candidates to participate in the development of process control system for next generation smelter technology.
Area of Responsibility
Together with the Process Control team, you will:
- Plan and execute technology development projects within process control and software solutions for Hydros aluminium electrolysis technology
- Take part in optimization, implementation of new technology and support to Hydros operations worldwide
- Deliver process control and software solutions to new smelter investment projects
Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree within Cybernetics or Embedded Software Systems
- Competence within estimator technics and model based control system or software development methods for embedded real-time system and PLC and industrial communication systems
- Analytical mindset, result oriented and with ability to define and achieve targets
- Well organised and structured
- Proven ability to work with others as well as taking lead in a team
- Good communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English and preferably Norwegian
- Maximum 2 years of work experience after graduation
