System Consultant, Application Support - APICS

Information Systems is the central IS organization in Hydro with 70 IS professionals. Information Systems' main objectives are to support Hydro’s business areas, corporate management and corporate functions with respect to use of IS and to establish corporate governance within IS. The governance decisions shall ensure successful utilization and that the company meets its overall goals for the use of IS.

The “System Consultant, Application support - APICS” position is part of the Application Upstream, APICS team.

APICS is one of the core applications for support and development of production processes in smelters and foundries. APICS is developed with modern system development in cooperation with our business units, and is implemented in our units in Europe, USA, South America and Asia.

The APICS team is responsible for developing and maintaining the APICS application as well as providing 24/7 application support. The team is mainly located in Årdal.

Area of Responsibility

Perform second and third line application support as a member of the APICS application support team.
The candidate will be included in the 24/7 roster following initial training and after having gained experience with the day support team (8x5).

Main tasks:

• Provide application support to end-users, key-users and plant IT resources.
• Participate in incident and problem management.
• Follow-up on operational status.
• Handle technical and operational issues in close cooperation with customers and service providers for infrastructure operation and hosting.
• Perform and/or advice local IT resources and key-users in site specific application configuration
• Participate in service meetings with customers.
• Installation and maintenance of both standard software packages as well as the APICS application.
• Continuous improvement of internal processes and deliveries to our customers and application users.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree within Information Technology/Science.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Expirience from IT Service management work.
• Expirience and knowledge from operation and development on the following platforms/technologies:
  • Oracle database, SQL and PLSQL
  • Weblogic
  • JAVA
  • OPC
  • Windows and Linux
• Operation or development of Manufacturing Execution Systems and/or automation systems. Preferably with alumium production industry.
• Able to document and share competence / knowledge in the team.
• Able to cooperate both within and across organizational boundaries, as well as being able to work independently, take responsibility and show initiative.
• Good communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian. Portuguese an advantage.
