Key Account Manager\Technical Sales Engineer
The Key Account Manager/Technical Sales Engineer will be a leader, guiding the sales efforts for the MOG marketplace supporting all businesses equally from a Sales perspective. This role also encompasses indirect selling through Authorized Representatives and working very closely with our Business Development staff. In this challenging and rewarding position, you would be responsible for providing support with identification of scope of connector supply for new and existing subsea projects by being in direct communication with customers and also look at offering replacement of competitive subsea connector products as seen fit. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will interface with customer’s Engineering, Purchasing, and R&D departments which involve understanding and communicating design requirements, discussing pricing and facilitating and participating in contract negotiations. The position will be based in Notodden, Norway.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers in technical, commercial, logistics and quality topics on behalf of TE/SEACON
- Work closely with customers to establish good working relationships. This should be conducted via all channels of communication including visits to customer locations, telephone and email.
- Develop relationships with dedicated customers identifying the decision makers that will be influential to the growth of TE/SEACON
- Conduct company presentations of Seacon products and company capabilities at customer locations and trade shows.
- Understand and discuss with customers their technical requirements on projects and provide recommended product and system solutions for their requirements.
- Attend trade shows and generate and present technical papers.
- Communicate effectively with Business Development, Outside Sales team, inside sales teams and appropriate divisional managers.
- Ensure regular follow up on quotations is performed.
- Provide sales reports in accordance with company standards
- Develop new customers and accounts
- Work on Market share increase and competitor replacement
Qualifications
The successful candidate will encompass the experience and skills to successfully compete, and thrive, in a highly competitive global market, including:
- Technical experience from either study or hands-on exposure to technical sales
- A background in either Oil & Gas, Remote Operating Vehicle, (ROV), or Ocean Research industries
- Solutions oriented individual capable of looking not only at the component requirement but beyond to a value added assembly solution
- Strong customer service focus at all times and the ability to engage Engineers and purchasing departments.
- Negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel (expectation ~20%)
