Job Description:
We are searching an experienced Senior/Staff Analog Designer to take a leading technical role in the analog design team located in Nydalen/Oslo. Silicon Labs are focusing on developing high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed signal semiconductors that offer significant advantages over competing solutions. We have analog design teams in the U.S., Asia and Europe which all consist of highly skilled and talented people who leverage each other’s strength to develop world leading products. You need relevant experience and thorough knowledge in analog circuit design. We also look for personal qualities like enthusiasm, creativity, self-drive and ability to work in a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design and verify circuits, logic, systems, etc. to meet product requirements.
- Determine design approaches and parameters.
- Develop innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secret.
- Serve as a divisional resource to resolve a broad range of complex technical issues, based on a thorough understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for custom layout, including overseeing the work of layout designers.
- Conduct evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements of ICs.
- Report on design results through design reviews, in accordance with company quality requirements and resolve action items generated as a result of these reviews.
- Attend design reviews to provide input and guidance to other designers.
- Research design techniques through technical publications and seminars.
- Oversee and mentor other design engineers in either a technical or project lead role.
Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5-10 years of related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MOS transistors and analog/digital circuit design.
- MOS Device modeling skills (noise, excess thermal noise, DIBL, NBTI)
- Design skills and knowledge related to building blocks (e.g., OPAMP, power management circuits, ADC, DAC, oscillators, memories, bandgap references, PLL)
- Understanding of layout tradeoffs for performance and size
- Verification skills (e.g., circuit simulation)
- Laboratory measurement skills
- Experience with Cadence design tools, Linux, Matlab and Python is an advantage
