Work Tasks and areas of responsibility:

EMAS AMC is currently building a Stalk Fabrication Spoolbase on the west coast of Norway, North of Bergen. For start of fabrication operations a Pipeline Fabrication Manager is required to manage the day to day pipeline fabrication activities on the base.

When the base is not in fabrication mode the Pipeline Fabrication Manager will assist the project and tendering teams in the head office in Oslo or any other site/vessel as instructed by EMAS Regional Operations Manager.

BASIS

  • Reports daily  to Department Manager and Project Manager on status and updates
  • Familiarize with governing Discipline, Company and Client defined set of standards
  • Take part in setting own KPI’s and assisting Line Manager in achieving Regional/ Global goals
  • Commit to Company’s governing procedures and policies.
  • Commit to Company’s Vision and Mission Statements, Behavior Guidelines, HSE standards and goals
  • Liaise with EMAS Base Manager for the sourcing of local services (i.e. Handling, Technicians, Catering, Logistic etc)

PROJECTS, OPERATIONS AND TENDERS

The Pipeline Fabrication Manager has overall responsibility for the operation of EMAS AMC Spoolbase pipeline fabrication facilities and equipment and holds responsibility for:

  • Planning the preparation of Spool Base in view of upcoming fabrication campaign (Personnel, Subcontractors, Local Services, Materials, Storage Areas, and Machineries) in accordance with project needs.
  • Identification of critical items of equipment and the development of a Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) in order to maintain pipeline fabrication operations at full capacity.
  • Coordinating and reporting, to the Department Manager and to the relevant Project Manager and Client representatives, the day-to-day pipeline fabrication activities in relation to the preparation  of the project pipe stalks and any load-outs onto the installation vessel or reel barge and any back-loading, including management of the pipeline fabrication welding contractor and their associated sub-contractors. 
  • Has overall responsibility for all day to day pipeline fabrication activities of the Spoolbase including:

          - Welding Sub-contractor

          - Pipe Handling Sub-contractor

          - FJC Sub-Contractor

          - NDE Sub-Contractor

          -  QA/QC inspection team

          -  Overall HSSE performance

  • Ensure that all subcontractors are performing as per expectation (meeting the agreed productivity levels) and address the risk of unsafe conditions or schedule delays.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and preserved after completion of each Fabrication campaign
  • Promote the development and training of local resources
  • Review and sign all subcontractors reports
  • Prepare, review and sign of Pipeline Fabrication  Daily Progress Reports and all reports produced by QA/QC team for further submittal to Client
  • Prepare and follow up compilation of Lesson Learned Report and implementation during and after completion of each fabrication campaign.
  • Annual review of Pipeline Fabrication Procedures according to Lesson Learned and recommendations from involved parties.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience
  • Relevant practical experience of pipeline welding under production conditions and weld inspection in a supervisory/management position.

  • Good English communication skills and ability to work in multi-cultural environments

  • Excellent English knowledge (verbal and written)
