Project Accountant

We are looking for a strong candidate to fill the position as Project Accountant, for a period of 12 -15 months. The main responsibility will be to perform project cost accounting and financial analysis for identified projects. The Project Accountant will also have a key role in the implementation of SAP upgrade which will take place during the summer 2014. We are primarily looking for candidates with some years relevant experience, but newly qualified graduates are also welcome to apply.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Project accounting for standalone projects

• • Develop and manage Project Financial baselines, cost plan and set targets
  • Ensure proper issuance of invoices that satisfy customer specific requirement and tax compliance
  • Track customer progress payment with project schedule, interface with accounts receivables
  • Maintain project revenue and expenditure statements
• Forecast monthly equipment shipment and cost recognition which in turn determines margins
  • Provide accurate and timely financial updated and project reports including identification an recommended actions for addressing problem areas, adverse trends and risks
  • Close working relationship with all project teams in the surface division
• Cost reporting and review; incl. assist in costing at pre-award phase of major projects, and track margins to ensure standard cost is a close surrogate to the actual cost
  • Incorporate other duties essential in cost control, analysis and reporting
• Key role in smooth implementation of SAP upgrade, incl. identify changes and coordinate between the 2 system until all divisions are migrated
• Assists in local SOX Compliance program including  testing in areas of responsibility
• Substitute for Financial Analyst, and execution of any specific project assigned by the Financial Controller

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Qualification / Diploma in Accountancy or Business Studies
• 3 – 5 years relevant experience in an Industrial Financial environment would be beneficial
• Knowledge of US GAAP and Norwegian statutory rules and regulations
