Senior Operations Engineer

The Operations team is responsible for operations and the complete life-cycle of external customer-facing systems in the Commodities & Energy business in Thomson Reuters as well providing support for other in house developed applications. The goal is to ensure always available, efficient and secure applications to our end-customers. The team members take active part in suggesting and implementing projects and actions to improve the operations of our systems. The candidate to be hired will follow our incident reporting and management routines, and work with the team to drive down incident levels as well as take part in regular risk-assessment of our operation.

The team follows a devops method of work where we work closely with our development team ensuring fast and efficient roll out of new applications/releases as well as ensuring that operational aspects like operability and monitoring are considered in the very beginning of a project. A potential candidate will have a senior role in this setting and should have a thorough understanding of agile software development, automation techniques for releases and configuration management as well as the technologies used. Technologies such as Puppet, Sensu, Linux and scripting languages such as bash and python would be central.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor or Master of Science in computer engineering or similar
• Minimum 5 years of experience from similar work
• Like to work in teams and in an agile environment
• Good communication skills. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to learn
