Manufacturing Engineer Purchase

As Manufacturing Engineer Purchase, and part of the Supplier Quality & Development team of Bergen Engines, support in the below mentioned activities applies:

• Assess supplier capability. Judge the technical and organisational production facilities based on the required quality level
• Check of both the available and required supplier approvals regarding product groups, quality systems and special processes
• Agree and implement measures for advanced quality planning with suppliers (Built in Quality)
• Coach suppliers regarding quality standards and specifications
• Support Design and Manufacturing Planning to optimize the definition of products and processes for quality and manufacturability
• Check and approve manufacturing plans, procedures and change requests for classified parts
• Determine and ensure the process capability of key characteristics
• Conduct and approve First Article Inspections (FAI). Define the level of inspection required
• Operate and control the change process and the interface between Engineering and the Supplier
• Trigger and drive measures for effective and economic problem resolution. Trigger and implement measures to improve quality and reduce Non conformances at supplier

The position functionally reports to Supplier Development & Technical Manager , Bergen Engines 

General

• Position calls for moderate travelling mostly within Europe

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with manufacturing or industrial engineering
• Several years of specific job experience related to manufacturing/engineering in Metal Working Industries
• Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques & Processes in Casting, Machining
• Sound knowledge of quality management & ISO systems 
• Problem solving skills & Root cause analysis 
• Fluent language skills in English, both written and spoken, in addition to Local language 
• Additional language skills are preferable
